La Nasa a d\u00e9voil\u00e9 mercredi soir la liste des cinq projets d\u2019exploration spatiale pressentis pour \u00eatre financ\u00e9s et concr\u00e9tis\u00e9s, dont deux concernent notre voisine. Chacun va recevoir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 3 millions de dollars pour mieux d\u00e9tailler ses objectifs et les moyens d\u2019y parvenir et au bout d\u2019un an, en septembre 2016, seule une ou deux de ces missions sera valid\u00e9e par l\u2019agence spatiale am\u00e9ricaine. A la cl\u00e9, un budget de 500 millions de dollars, et l\u2019assurance de ramener sur Terre des donn\u00e9es in\u00e9dites. La mission Davinci propose d\u2019envoyer un vaisseau jusqu\u2019\u00e0 notre proche voisine, deuxi\u00e8me plan\u00e8te en partant du Soleil, qui dissimule son sol sous une atmosph\u00e8re \u00e9paisse, br\u00fblante et corrosive. Le vaisseau larguerait une sonde qui ferait une chute de 63 minutes jusqu\u2019au sol, \u00e9tudiant \u00e0 la fois l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re v\u00e9nusienne et sa surface, qu\u2019on pense couverte de volcans.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Cartographier V\u00e9nus. M\u00eame plan\u00e8te, objectif diff\u00e9rent. La mission Psyche a pour objectif de visiter l\u2019ast\u00e9ro\u00efde du m\u00eame nom, bel objet de 213 kilom\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre situ\u00e9 dans la ceinture d\u2019ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes (entre les orbites de Mars et de Jupiter) et dont on pense qu\u2019il est compos\u00e9 \u00e0 90 % de fer et de nickel. On le soup\u00e7onne d\u2019\u00eatre ce qui reste d\u2019un impact avec un plan\u00e9t\u00e9simal, un embryon de plan\u00e8te. Le visiter pourrait revenir \u00e0 observer le c\u0153ur d\u2019une plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Remonter l\u2019histoire du Syst\u00e8me solaire. Pour observer les objets de la ceinture de Kuiper, cet immense amas de petits corps situ\u00e9 loin au-del\u00e0 de Neptune, on peut s\u2019y rendre \u2013 c\u2019est ce qu\u2019est en train de faire la sonde New Horizons apr\u00e8s avoir survol\u00e9 Pluton. Ou alors on peut, comme le propose la mission Lucy, visiter les ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes troyens de Jupiter, situ\u00e9s sur l\u2019orbite de la g\u00e9ante gazeuse, qui pourraient provenir directement de la ceinture de Kuiper. Leur int\u00e9r\u00eat : ils n\u2019auraient pas chang\u00e9 depuis la formation du Syst\u00e8me solaire il y a 4,5 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es, et sont donc les briques fondamentales de notre syst\u00e8me et de ses plan\u00e8tes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">D\u00e9tecter le prochain \u00ab Armageddon \u00bb. 20 Minutes vous l\u2019avait expliqu\u00e9, le ciel est rempli d\u2019ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes croisant l\u2019orbite terrestre, qu\u2019on ne parvient pas \u00e0 d\u00e9tecter et qui peuvent nous tomber dessus \u00e0 tout instant en causant de gros d\u00e9g\u00e2ts.
