Pourtant, elle n&rsquo;est rep\u00e9r\u00e9e qu&rsquo;en 2013 par Ralf-Dieter Scholz, qui par la suite donnera son nom \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9toile. Scholz est une naine rouge, une toute petite \u00e9toile repr\u00e9sentant 8 % de la masse totale du soleil\u00a0 et contrairement \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9toile naine jaune, elle n&rsquo;\u00e9met qu&rsquo;une faible lumi\u00e8re. Les astronomes se plongent enfin sur les traces de Scholz. Ils \u00e9tudient sa lumi\u00e8re et surtout son remarquable d\u00e9placement&#8230; qu&rsquo;elle ne fait pas toute seule ! Car Scholz gravite avec une naine brune, un petit astre sombre, \u00e0 la fois \u00e9toile et plan\u00e8te, pesant 6 % de la masse du soleil. \u00ab\u00a0Scholz s&rsquo;\u00e9loigne de nous de fa\u00e7on quasi parfaite\u00a0\u00bb, souligne Adam Burgasser, professeur de physique \u00e0 l&rsquo;UC San Diego. Le r\u00e9sultat final est palpitant : Scholz et son compagnon ont travers\u00e9 le nuage d&rsquo;Oort, zone extr\u00eame de notre syst\u00e8me solaire.
