{"id":4369,"date":"2008-03-31T19:27:41","date_gmt":"2008-03-31T17:27:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.laterredufutur.com\/accueil1\/?p=4369"},"modified":"2015-04-12T19:29:20","modified_gmt":"2015-04-12T17:29:20","slug":"le-gulf-stream-influence-jusquaux-couches-les-plus-hautes-de-latmosphere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.laterredufutur.com\/accueil\/le-gulf-stream-influence-jusquaux-couches-les-plus-hautes-de-latmosphere\/","title":{"rendered":"Le Gulf Stream influence jusqu&rsquo;aux couches les plus hautes de l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"1665f18d14f35dd9e7566e1a8ac9a3e9\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2860849627502538\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3019501113\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Le Gulf Stream, courant chaud venu des Cara\u00efbes qui adoucit le climat de l&rsquo;Europe occidentale, affecte jusqu&rsquo;aux plus hautes couches de l&rsquo;atmoph\u00e8re, a d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une \u00e9quipe de chercheurs dont les travaux\u00a0ont \u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0publi\u00e9s\u00a0la semaine du 12 mars 2008\u00a0dans la revue britannique Nature.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">En combinant des images satellitaires \u00e0 haute d\u00e9finition et des analyses du Centre europ\u00e9en de pr\u00e9visions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques \u00e0 moyen terme (ECMWF), Shoshiro Minobe de l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 d&rsquo;Hokkaido au Japon et ses coll\u00e8gues ont prouv\u00e9 que \u00ab\u00a0le Gulf Stream affecte l&rsquo;ensemble de la troposph\u00e8re\u00a0\u00bb, qui s&rsquo;\u00e9tend de 8 \u00e0 15 km au-dessus du niveau de la mer.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Ils ont en effet constat\u00e9 que le courant chaud est bord\u00e9 par une bande \u00e9troite de pr\u00e9cipitations au sein de laquelle \u00ab\u00a0les mouvements ascendants et la formation des nuages s&rsquo;\u00e9tendent jusque dans la troposph\u00e8re sup\u00e9rieure\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Le Gulf Stream \u00ab\u00a0a vari\u00e9 en intensit\u00e9 par le pass\u00e9 et devrait s&rsquo;affaiblir \u00e0 l&rsquo;avenir en r\u00e9ponse au r\u00e9chauffement climatique d&rsquo;origine humaine\u00a0\u00bb, car le courant est li\u00e9 aux diff\u00e9rences de salinit\u00e9 et de temp\u00e9rature, donc de densit\u00e9, entre les eaux tropicales et polaires, rappellent les scientifiques.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">La circulation oc\u00e9anique dont fait partie le Gulf Stream devrait se ralentir au cours du 21\u00e8me si\u00e8cle, selon le Groupe intergouvernemental sur l&rsquo;\u00e9volution du climat (Giec), qui met en garde contre les cons\u00e9quences pour l&rsquo;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me marin et la capacit\u00e9 des oc\u00e9ans \u00e0 absorber du CO2.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Les effets d&rsquo;un affaiblissement du Gulf Stream sur les ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes atmosph\u00e9riques restent encore mal connus, mais il est possible qu&rsquo;il induise \u00ab\u00a0des anomalies au niveau des pr\u00e9cipitations le long du courant chaud ainsi que des changements de circulation atmosph\u00e9rique\u00a0\u00bb, rel\u00e8vent les chercheurs dans Nature.<\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\">Le Gulf Stream permet \u00e0 l&rsquo;Europe occidentale de jouir d&rsquo;un climat temp\u00e9r\u00e9 jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 des latitudes tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9es.
