La surprise \u00e9tait d\u2019autant plus grande que plusieurs d\u2019entre eux travaillaient depuis de nombreuses ann\u00e9es dans les eaux superficielles de l\u2019Antarctique.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/laterredufutur.com\/spaw\/images\/antarctic1.gif?resize=203%2C182\" alt=\"\" width=\"203\" height=\"182\" align=\"left\" \/>\u00abEn g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, la vie d\u00e9cro\u00eet au fur et \u00e0 mesure que nous descendons profond\u00e9ment dans la mer parce que la nourriture et la lumi\u00e8re y sont de plus en plus rares\u00bb, explique Katrin Linse, du British Antarctic Survey. \u00abMais, nous avons d\u00e9couvert exactement l\u2019inverse, ici.\u00bb<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Les biologistes ont scrut\u00e9 l\u2019oc\u00e9an jusqu\u2019\u00e0 une profondeur de 6,5 kilom\u00e8tres et y ont trouv\u00e9 plus de 600 esp\u00e8ces d\u2019isopodes (un type de crustac\u00e9) dont 86% d\u2019entre elles n\u2019avaient encore jamais \u00e9t\u00e9 observ\u00e9es. Une analyse g\u00e9n\u00e9tique a permis de d\u00e9couvrir que les esp\u00e8ces d\u00e9couvertes en Antarctique seraient peut-\u00eatre les anc\u00eatres d\u2019esp\u00e8ces connues et qu\u2019elles auraient \u00e9volu\u00e9 diff\u00e9remment.
