Premier objectif : traquer l\u2019\u00e9nergie noire qui se cacherait derri\u00e8re l\u2019expansion de l\u2019Univers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Un nouveau t\u00e9lescope, \u00e9quip\u00e9 d\u2019un miroir de 10 m\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre, a ouvert ses yeux au p\u00f4le Sud de la Terre au moment o\u00f9 des centaines de chercheurs entrent dans la quatri\u00e8me ann\u00e9e polaire internationale (API).<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fruit de la collaboration entre plusieurs universit\u00e9s am\u00e9ricaines, financ\u00e9 en grande partie par la National Science Fondation Foundation (NSF), le t\u00e9lescope du p\u00f4le Sud (SPT) va se consacrer \u00e0 la cartographie du rayonnement fossile de l\u2019univers.<\/span><\/p><div class=\"1665f18d14f35dd9e7566e1a8ac9a3e9\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2860849627502538\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3019501113\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">L\u2019Antarctique est l\u2019un des pires endroits de la plan\u00e8te pour installer un t\u00e9lescope mais l\u2019un de meilleurs pour observer le ciel. Le p\u00f4le Sud est perch\u00e9 \u00e0 2.800 m\u00e8tres d\u2019altitude sur cet immense plateau blanc. L\u2019atmosph\u00e8re y est s\u00e8che, r\u00e9duisant au minimum les interf\u00e9rences de la lumi\u00e8re avec la vapeur d\u2019eau. Construit au Texas, aux Etats-Unis, le SPT a \u00e9t\u00e9 transport\u00e9 par bateau en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande puis achemin\u00e9 par avion, bout par bout, \u00e0 la station am\u00e9ricaine Amundsen-Scott du p\u00f4le Sud. Apr\u00e8s plus de trois mois d\u2019assemblage et de construction, le t\u00e9lescope a pris sa premi\u00e8re lumi\u00e8re le 15 f\u00e9vrier.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"justify\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Depuis sa position privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e, le SPT va cartographier le fond cosmologique diffus, consid\u00e9r\u00e9 comme le vestige de l&rsquo;\u00e9poque tr\u00e8s chaude qu\u2019a connue l&rsquo;Univers primordial il y a environ 13 milliards d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es.
