Si ce volcan de 50 km de diam\u00e8tre n&rsquo;est pas actif en ce moment, il n&rsquo;est pas totalement \u00e9teint et son activit\u00e9 pourrait red\u00e9marrer.<\/p>\n<p>Le professeur Patrizio Signanini, de l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Chieti, a eu l&rsquo;id\u00e9e d&rsquo;utiliser cette \u00e9norme chaudi\u00e8re pour produire de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie g\u00e9othermique. L&rsquo;eau qui se trouve \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 du magma se surchauffe \u00e0 plus de 300\u00b0C et le professeur Signanini a imagin\u00e9 que si l&rsquo;on pouvait creuser un tube de captation pour aller l&rsquo;y chercher, sa vapeur servirait \u00e0 faire fonctionner des turbines et donc des g\u00e9n\u00e9rateurs d&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 de 200 M\u00e9gawatts de puissance. De l&rsquo;eau froide serait r\u00e9ins\u00e9r\u00e9e dans la cro\u00fbte oc\u00e9anique \u00e0 l&rsquo;aide d&rsquo;un forage.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Le professeur Patrizio Signanini a trouv\u00e9 un interlocuteur dans le milieu industriel : La firme Eurobuilding, une PME des Marches qui a d\u00e9j\u00e0 une connaissance dans l&rsquo;extraction et les forages en milieu marin, a constitu\u00e9 depuis 2005 un groupe de recherche incluant des chercheurs de l&rsquo;Institut pour la G\u00e9ologie Marine IGM-CNR, de l&rsquo;Institut National de G\u00e9ophysique et de Vulcanologie INGV, et des universit\u00e9s de Chieti et de Bari, et ils ont publi\u00e9 des travaux mettant en \u00e9vidence la pr\u00e9sence de centaines de millions de m\u00e8tres cubes de fluides g\u00e9othermiques sous terre. Elle se donne jusque 2013 pour creuser le puits pilote de 800 m\u00e8tres de profondeur. Les technologies du p\u00e9troles sont utilis\u00e9es et adapt\u00e9es \u00e0 la g\u00e9othermie, mais avec en plus la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 qu&rsquo;en cas de fuite, les d\u00e9g\u00e2ts seraient moindres pour l&rsquo;\u00e9cosyst\u00e8me, car il s&rsquo;agit uniquement d&rsquo;eau de mer.<\/p>\n<p>L&rsquo;avantage est que cette technique, en plus de produire une \u00e9nergie propre et renouvelable, fonctionne en continu (\u00e0 l&rsquo;inverse de l&rsquo;\u00e9olien et du solaire). Si les pouvoirs publics permettent le d\u00e9veloppement de cette technologie, la g\u00e9othermie pourrait repr\u00e9senter 5 \u00e0 7% du mix \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique national et deviendrait la deuxi\u00e8me source d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie renouvelable apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;hydro-\u00e9lectrique. Et si le co\u00fbt des installations est de plus de 2 milliards d&rsquo;euros, le co\u00fbt pr\u00e9vu au kilowattheure reste assez raisonnable, deux fois moins cher que le photovolta\u00efque.<\/p>\n<p>Dans le m\u00eame temps, il est \u00e0 noter qu&rsquo;\u00e0 Lardarello, l&rsquo;un des deux sites italiens (avec celui du monte Amiata) produisant d\u00e9j\u00e0 de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie g\u00e9othermique, sera inaugur\u00e9 dans les prochaines semaines le \u00a0\u00bb Mus\u00e9e g\u00e9othermique \u00ab\u00a0, un centre d\u00e9di\u00e9 \u00e0 la technologie et \u00e0 l&rsquo;exploitation centenaire des chaleurs terrestres de Toscane.
