La hausse des temp\u00e9ratures, la multiplication des \u00e9v\u00e9nements extr\u00eames, l&rsquo;acidification des oc\u00e9ans ou encore la disparition de nombreux habitats naturels entra\u00eenent d\u00e9j\u00e0 un d\u00e9clin pr\u00e9occupant de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces animales et v\u00e9g\u00e9tales.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"473\" data-end=\"827\">Mais l&rsquo;histoire de la Terre montre \u00e9galement qu&rsquo;\u00e0 chaque grande crise environnementale succ\u00e8dent de profondes transformations de la vie. Certaines esp\u00e8ces disparaissent, tandis que d&rsquo;autres apparaissent, \u00e9voluent ou colonisent de nouveaux territoires. Le r\u00e9chauffement actuel pourrait-il, \u00e0 long terme, conduire \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9mergence de nouvelles formes de vie ?<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"1cyj234\" data-start=\"829\" data-end=\"868\">Une plan\u00e8te en pleine transformation<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"870\" data-end=\"1100\">Depuis le d\u00e9but de l&rsquo;\u00e8re industrielle, la temp\u00e9rature moyenne de la plan\u00e8te a augment\u00e9 d&rsquo;environ <strong data-start=\"967\" data-end=\"977\">1,3 \u00b0C<\/strong> par rapport \u00e0 la p\u00e9riode pr\u00e9industrielle. data-end=\"2245\">sp\u00e9ciation<\/strong>, est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne naturel qui n\u00e9cessite g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement des milliers, voire des dizaines de milliers d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2355\" data-end=\"2546\">Lorsque des populations se retrouvent isol\u00e9es dans des environnements diff\u00e9rents, elles \u00e9voluent progressivement sous l&rsquo;effet de la s\u00e9lection naturelle jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 devenir des esp\u00e8ces distinctes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2548\" data-end=\"2737\">Le changement climatique actuel pourrait acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer certains de ces processus, mais il est beaucoup trop rapide pour que de nombreuses nouvelles esp\u00e8ces apparaissent au cours du XXI\u1d49 si\u00e8cle.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2739\" data-end=\"2828\">En revanche, il favorisera probablement l&rsquo;\u00e9volution de nombreuses populations existantes.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"adaq54\" data-start=\"2830\" data-end=\"2861\">Des gagnants et des perdants<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"2863\" data-end=\"2919\">Toutes les esp\u00e8ces ne r\u00e9agissent pas de la m\u00eame mani\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2921\" data-end=\"2963\">Certaines profitent d\u00e9j\u00e0 du r\u00e9chauffement.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2965\" data-end=\"3012\">Des insectes tropicaux remontent vers l&rsquo;Europe.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3014\" data-end=\"3082\">Des poissons m\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens colonisent progressivement l&rsquo;Atlantique.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3084\" data-end=\"3128\">Des esp\u00e8ces v\u00e9g\u00e9tales gagnent de l&rsquo;altitude.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3130\" data-end=\"3184\">\u00c0 l&rsquo;inverse, d&rsquo;autres voient leur habitat dispara\u00eetre.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3186\" data-end=\"3317\">Les ours polaires, certains manchots, les coraux tropicaux ou encore de nombreuses esp\u00e8ces alpines figurent parmi les plus expos\u00e9s.<\/p>\n<h2 data-section-id=\"5rh6x5\" data-start=\"3319\" data-end=\"3359\">Les for\u00eats pourront-elles compenser ?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"3361\" data-end=\"3426\">Les for\u00eats jouent un r\u00f4le essentiel dans la r\u00e9gulation du climat.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3428\" data-end=\"3599\">Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 la photosynth\u00e8se, elles absorbent une partie du dioxyde de carbone \u00e9mis par les activit\u00e9s humaines et stockent ce carbone dans les troncs, les racines et les sols.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3601\" data-end=\"3726\">Dans certaines r\u00e9gions aujourd&rsquo;hui froides, le r\u00e9chauffement pourrait effectivement favoriser une extension de la data-start=\"5146\" data-end=\"5301\">Autour de l&rsquo;\u00e9quateur, les mod\u00e8les climatiques pr\u00e9voient moins une augmentation spectaculaire des temp\u00e9ratures qu&rsquo;une intensification des \u00e9pisodes extr\u00eames.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5303\" data-end=\"5354\">Les principales cons\u00e9quences attendues concernent :<\/p>\n<ul data-start=\"5356\" suivie d&rsquo;une nouvelle \u00e9volution ?<\/h2>\n<p data-start=\"5693\" data-end=\"5772\">La Terre a d\u00e9j\u00e0 connu cinq grandes crises biologiques au cours de son histoire.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5774\" data-end=\"5892\">\u00c0 chaque extinction massive, de nouvelles esp\u00e8ces sont finalement apparues, parfois apr\u00e8s plusieurs millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"5894\" data-end=\"6122\">Le changement climatique actuel, associ\u00e9 \u00e0 la destruction des habitats, \u00e0 la pollution et \u00e0 la surexploitation des ressources, pourrait condamne pas la vie sur Terre. Celle-ci a toujours d\u00e9montr\u00e9 une extraordinaire capacit\u00e9 d&rsquo;adaptation au fil des millions d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"6582\" data-end=\"6798\">En revanche, il transformera profond\u00e9ment les \u00e9cosyst\u00e8mes tels que nous les connaissons aujourd&rsquo;hui.
