Il s&rsquo;agit de l&rsquo;ast\u00e9ro\u00efde <strong data-start=\"231\" data-end=\"243\">2016 HO3<\/strong>, \u00e9galement connu sous le nom de <strong data-start=\"276\" data-end=\"291\">Kamo\u02bboalewa<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"332\" data-end=\"670\">Une sonde de la mission chinoise <strong data-start=\"365\" data-end=\"378\">Tianwen-2<\/strong>, de l&rsquo;Administration spatiale nationale chinoise (CNSA), vient de transmettre la toute premi\u00e8re photographie rapproch\u00e9e de cet objet exceptionnel. Son nom, <em data-start=\"535\" data-end=\"548\">Kamo\u02bboalewa<\/em>, provient d&rsquo;un chant traditionnel hawa\u00efen \u00e9voquant un objet oscillant dans le ciel.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"1029\">Lanc\u00e9e le <strong data-start=\"682\" data-end=\"697\">29 mai 2025<\/strong> depuis le centre spatial de Xichang, Tianwen-2 est la premi\u00e8re mission chinoise destin\u00e9e \u00e0 rapporter sur Terre des \u00e9chantillons d&rsquo;un ast\u00e9ro\u00efde. Apr\u00e8s un peu plus d&rsquo;un an de voyage, la sonde s&rsquo;est approch\u00e9e \u00e0 environ <strong data-start=\"914\" data-end=\"931\">20 kilom\u00e8tres<\/strong> de Kamo\u02bboalewa et a captur\u00e9 cette premi\u00e8re image d\u00e9taill\u00e9e.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1031\" data-end=\"1580\">Contrairement \u00e0 notre Lune, Kamo\u02bboalewa n&rsquo;est pas un v\u00e9ritable satellite naturel de la Terre. Son orbite principale est autour du Soleil. Cependant, sa trajectoire reste tr\u00e8s proche de celle de notre plan\u00e8te et il effectue une \u00e9volution particuli\u00e8re qui le fait revenir \u00e0 proximit\u00e9 de la Terre selon un cycle d&rsquo;environ <strong data-start=\"1350\" data-end=\"1360\">45 ans<\/strong>. C&rsquo;est pourquoi les astronomes le classent parmi les <strong data-start=\"1414\" data-end=\"1434\">quasi-satellites<\/strong>, une cat\u00e9gorie extr\u00eamement rare dont seulement <strong data-start=\"1482\" data-end=\"1522\">sept objets sont actuellement connus<\/strong> autour de la Terre.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"youtube-player\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RP73u6hOjPw?version=3&#038;rel=1&#038;showsearch=0&#038;showinfo=1&#038;iv_load_policy=1&#038;fs=1&#038;hl=fr-FR&#038;autohide=2&#038;wmode=transparent\" allowfullscreen=\"true\" style=\"border:0;\" sandbox=\"allow-scripts allow-same-origin allow-popups allow-presentation allow-popups-to-escape-sandbox\"><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1582\" data-end=\"1901\">Kamo\u02bboalewa appartient \u00e9galement \u00e0 la famille des <strong data-start=\"1632\" data-end=\"1653\">ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes Apollo<\/strong>, des corps c\u00e9lestes dont l&rsquo;orbite croise ou accompagne celle de la Terre autour du Soleil. Sa dynamique orbitale particuli\u00e8re lui permet n\u00e9anmoins de rester voisin de notre plan\u00e8te pendant de longues p\u00e9riodes.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1903\" data-end=\"2303\">Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, les connaissances sur cet ast\u00e9ro\u00efde \u00e9taient tr\u00e8s limit\u00e9es, car elles reposaient uniquement sur des observations r\u00e9alis\u00e9es depuis la Terre. Les astronomes estiment qu&rsquo;il mesure entre <strong data-start=\"2102\" data-end=\"2134\">40 et 100 m\u00e8tres de diam\u00e8tre<\/strong>. Si cette estimation est confirm\u00e9e, il pourrait devenir <strong data-start=\"2191\" data-end=\"2264\">le plus petit ast\u00e9ro\u00efde jamais explor\u00e9 de pr\u00e8s par une sonde spatiale<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2305\" data-end=\"2707\">Les scientifiques consid\u00e8rent Kamo\u02bboalewa comme un laboratoire naturel exceptionnel. Son orbite inhabituelle, son origine encore myst\u00e9rieuse et ses caract\u00e9ristiques physiques mal connues pourraient permettre de mieux comprendre la formation des quasi-satellites terrestres ainsi que l&rsquo;\u00e9volution dynamique de leurs orbites au cours de l&rsquo;histoire du Syst\u00e8me solaire.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2709\" data-end=\"3159\" data-is-last-node=\"\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Les prochaines \u00e9tapes de la mission Tianwen-2 consisteront \u00e0 cartographier pr\u00e9cis\u00e9ment la surface de l&rsquo;ast\u00e9ro\u00efde, s\u00e9lectionner un site d&rsquo;atterrissage, pr\u00e9lever des \u00e9chantillons puis les ramener sur Terre pour des analyses en laboratoire.
