{"id":29321,"date":"2026-07-04T08:00:47","date_gmt":"2026-07-04T06:00:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.laterredufutur.com\/accueil\/?p=29321"},"modified":"2026-07-03T22:34:54","modified_gmt":"2026-07-03T20:34:54","slug":"une-super-terre-potentiellement-habitable-decouverte-a-seulement-25-annees-lumiere","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.laterredufutur.com\/accueil\/une-super-terre-potentiellement-habitable-decouverte-a-seulement-25-annees-lumiere\/","title":{"rendered":"Une super-Terre potentiellement habitable d\u00e9couverte \u00e0 seulement 25 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"1665f18d14f35dd9e7566e1a8ac9a3e9\" data-index=\"1\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2860849627502538\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3019501113\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n<p>Une plan\u00e8te d\u00e9couverte une premi\u00e8re fois en 2024 autour d&rsquo;une petite \u00e9toile naine rouge, baptis\u00e9e GJ 3378, pourrait \u00eatre encore plus semblable \u00e0 la Terre que ce que les premi\u00e8res observations laissaient penser.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Cette plan\u00e8te, nomm\u00e9e GJ 3378b, appartient \u00e0 la cat\u00e9gorie des super-Terres : des mondes plus massifs que la Terre, mais suffisamment petits pour \u00eatre essentiellement rocheux, contrairement aux mini-Neptunes riches en gaz.<\/p>\n<p>De nouvelles observations, r\u00e9alis\u00e9es gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 plusieurs t\u00e9lescopes, ont permis d&rsquo;affiner consid\u00e9rablement ses caract\u00e9ristiques.<\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs ont notamment d\u00e9couvert que :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>sa masse est d&rsquo;environ 2,3 fois celle de la Terre, contre une estimation initiale de 5,3 masses terrestres ;<\/li>\n<li>elle est donc beaucoup plus susceptible d&rsquo;\u00eatre une plan\u00e8te rocheuse ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>elle se situe toujours dans la zone habitable de son \u00e9toile, c&rsquo;est-\u00e0-dire \u00e0 une distance o\u00f9 de l&rsquo;eau liquide pourrait exister \u00e0 sa surface si une atmosph\u00e8re est pr\u00e9sente.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pourquoi cette d\u00e9couverte est importante<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, la masse estim\u00e9e de GJ 3378b la pla\u00e7ait \u00e0 la fronti\u00e8re entre deux cat\u00e9gories :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>les super-Terres, g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement rocheuses ;<\/li>\n<li>les mini-Neptunes, recouvertes d&rsquo;une \u00e9paisse enveloppe gazeuse.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>La nouvelle estimation change la donne. Avec seulement 2,3 masses terrestres, les probabilit\u00e9s qu&rsquo;il s&rsquo;agisse d&rsquo;un monde solide ressemblant davantage \u00e0 la Terre augmentent fortement.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Une voisine \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle cosmique<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>La plan\u00e8te se trouve \u00e0 25 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de nous, dans la constellation de la Girafe (Camelopardalis).<\/p>\n<p>Cela para\u00eet immense, mais \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chelle de notre galaxie, qui mesure pr\u00e8s de 100 000 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de diam\u00e8tre, elle fait partie de notre proche voisinage cosmique.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Une temp\u00e9rature prometteuse<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les nouvelles mesures montrent \u00e9galement que la plan\u00e8te effectue une r\u00e9volution autour de son \u00e9toile en 21 jours.<\/p>\n<p>Son \u00e9toile \u00e9tant une naine rouge beaucoup moins lumineuse que le Soleil, cette courte orbite la place malgr\u00e9 tout dans une r\u00e9gion o\u00f9 elle re\u00e7oit environ 90 % de l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie que la Terre re\u00e7oit du Soleil.<\/p>\n<p>Autrement dit, si GJ 3378b poss\u00e8de une atmosph\u00e8re, sa temp\u00e9rature pourrait permettre la \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Un obstacle majeur : la naine rouge<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tout n&rsquo;est cependant pas id\u00e9al.<\/p>\n<p>Les naines rouges sont connues pour produire de puissantes \u00e9ruptions et un vent stellaire intense pouvant progressivement arracher l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re des plan\u00e8tes proches.<\/p>\n<p>Aujourd&rsquo;hui, les astronomes ignorent donc si GJ 3378b poss\u00e8de encore une atmosph\u00e8re capable de prot\u00e9ger une \u00e9ventuelle vie.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pourquoi le t\u00e9lescope James Webb ne peut pas r\u00e9pondre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Habituellement, le T\u00e9lescope spatial James Webb \u00e9tudie les atmosph\u00e8res d&rsquo;exoplan\u00e8tes lorsqu&rsquo;elles passent devant leur \u00e9toile.<\/p>\n<p>Mais GJ 3378b ne transite pas devant son \u00e9toile depuis notre point de vue terrestre.<\/p>\n<p>Cette technique est donc impossible \u00e0 utiliser dans son cas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Il faudra attendre la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de t\u00e9lescopes<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Les chercheurs esp\u00e8rent que le futur observatoire de la NASA, le Habitable Worlds Observatory, pr\u00e9vu dans les ann\u00e9es 2040, sera capable d&rsquo;observer directement cette plan\u00e8te et de d\u00e9terminer :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>si elle poss\u00e8de une atmosph\u00e8re ;<\/li>\n<li>quelle est sa composition ;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>et, peut-\u00eatre un jour, si des biosignatures (indices d&rsquo;une activit\u00e9 biologique) y sont d\u00e9tectables.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Une cible de premier plan<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>M\u00eame si rien ne prouve aujourd&rsquo;hui que cette plan\u00e8te abrite la vie, GJ 3378b est d\u00e9sormais consid\u00e9r\u00e9e comme l&rsquo;une des meilleures candidates proches de la Terre pour rechercher un monde potentiellement habitable.<\/p>\n<p>Sa proximit\u00e9, sa probable nature rocheuse et sa position dans la zone habitable en font une cible prioritaire pour les futurs grands t\u00e9lescopes.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
