Des t\u00e9phras ont recouvert de vastes \u00e9tendues du Japon et de la p\u00e9ninsule cor\u00e9enne.<\/p>\n<p>Le volcan n&rsquo;a rien fait d&rsquo;aussi spectaculaire depuis, mais il est toujours actif , produisant une s\u00e9rie d&rsquo;\u00e9ruptions mineures \u00e9parses au cours des derni\u00e8res d\u00e9cennies.<\/p>\n<p>Des recherches ant\u00e9rieures ont mis en \u00e9vidence une nouvelle activit\u00e9 volcanique sous la caldeira de Kikai, indiquant la formation d&rsquo;un d\u00f4me de lave et soulevant des inqui\u00e9tudes quant \u00e0 son potentiel d&rsquo;\u00e9ruption \u00e0 nouveau.<\/p>\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 le peu de preuves et l&rsquo;absence de documents \u00e9crits, on pense que l&rsquo;\u00e9ruption de l&rsquo;Akahoya a d\u00e9vast\u00e9 le peuple J\u014dmon , qui habitait ce qui est aujourd&rsquo;hui le Japon entre environ 14 000 av. J.-C. et 300 av. Earth &amp; Env., 2026\/CC BY 4.0 )<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>\u00ab Compte tenu de son \u00e9tendue et de son emplacement, il est clair qu\u2019il s\u2019agit en fait du m\u00eame r\u00e9servoir magmatique que lors de l\u2019\u00e9ruption pr\u00e9c\u00e9dente \u00bb, d\u00e9clare Seama .<\/p>\n<p>Le magma \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur ne semble pas \u00eatre un r\u00e9sidu ; les analyses chimiques sugg\u00e8rent que sa composition diff\u00e8re de celle des mat\u00e9riaux d&rsquo;Akahoya.
