En d\u00e9pit des annonces de la Nasa ce mercredi 10 septembre sur l&rsquo;hypoth\u00e8se d&rsquo;une r\u00e9action biologique \u00e0 l&rsquo;origine des \u00e9tranges t\u00e2ches bleu et vert, il est indispensable de ramener sur Terre pour de plus amples recherches. Il pourrait s&rsquo;agir d&rsquo;une preuve de vie microbienne ancienne.<br \/>\nAvec un certain enthousiasme, la Nasa a annonc\u00e9 ce mercredi 10 septembre lors d&rsquo;une conf\u00e9rence de presse que les roches pr\u00e9lev\u00e9es par le rover Perseverance en juillet 2024 pouvaient \u00eatre \u00ab\u00a0le signe le plus \u00e9vident jamais trouv\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, de vie sur Mars.<\/p>\n<p>Pourtant le suspense reste entier. Dans l&rsquo;article publi\u00e9 par l&rsquo;\u00e9quipe de scientifique chapeaut\u00e9 par l&rsquo;Agence am\u00e9ricaine dans la revue de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence Nature, les experts se montrent pr\u00e9cautionneux.<\/p>\n<p>Ils reconnaissent cependant l&rsquo;int\u00e9r\u00eat \u00e9vident de ces \u00e9chantillons vieux de trois milliards d&rsquo;ann\u00e9es ramass\u00e9s dans l&rsquo;ancien delta d&rsquo;un lac de la plan\u00e8te rouge. Les instruments de Perseverance ont notamment identifi\u00e9 deux min\u00e9raux, la vivianite et la greigite, qui donnent \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9chantillon cette forme mouchet\u00e9e tr\u00e8s particuli\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<div class=\"embed-twitter\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"500\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">After a year of scientific scrutiny, a rock sample collected by the Perseverance rover has been confirmed to contain a potential biosignature. On a d\u00e9couvert des t\u00e2ches et des nodules de l&rsquo;ordre du millim\u00e8tre un petit peu plus bleu et vert que l&rsquo;environnement rouge habituel\u00a0\u00bb, d\u00e9crit aupr\u00e8s de BFMTV Caroline Freissinet, charg\u00e9e de recherche CNRS en sciences plan\u00e9taires au Latmos, un laboratoire \u00e0 Guyancourt (Yvelines). Nous savons que ces t\u00e2ches se sont form\u00e9es par des r\u00e9actions chimiques qui font intervenir la vie dans des environnements o\u00f9 il y a de l&rsquo;eau et du fer\u00a0\u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Par analogie, les chercheurs estiment que ces min\u00e9raux peuvent s&rsquo;\u00eatre form\u00e9s sur Mars comme ils l&rsquo;ont \u00e9t\u00e9 sur Terre.<\/p>\n<p>Depuis leur collecte, ces \u00e9chantillons rocheux se trouvent \u00e0 l&rsquo;int\u00e9rieur de Perseverance o\u00f9 ils ont subi une batterie de tests et d&rsquo;analyses gr\u00e2ce aux divers outils embarqu\u00e9s au sein du rover qui s&rsquo;\u00e9tait pos\u00e9 de mani\u00e8re spectaculaire sur Mars en f\u00e9vrier 2021. La publication de ces r\u00e9sultats t\u00e9moigne aujourd&rsquo;hui des limites atteintes par l&rsquo;analyse sur Mars des roches.
