Les scientifiques commencent \u00e0 comprendre ce qui provoque de minuscules \u00e9ruptions sur le soleil, appel\u00e9es \u00ab feux de camp \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Les feux de camp ont \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverts en 2020, lorsque la sonde Solar Orbiter de l&rsquo;Agence spatiale europ\u00e9enne a pris des photos rapproch\u00e9es de notre \u00e9toile m\u00e8re et a rep\u00e9r\u00e9 de petits scintillements de lumi\u00e8re ultraviolette (SN : 7\/16\/20). Ces \u00e9clairs ressemblent \u00e0 des explosions plus massives telles que les \u00e9ruptions solaires et les \u00e9jections de masse coronale, mais leur taille n&rsquo;est que d&rsquo;un millioni\u00e8me ou d&rsquo;un milliardi\u00e8me.<\/p>\n<p>En observant 52 feux de camp, le physicien solaire Navdeep Panesar et ses coll\u00e8gues ont suivi ces \u00e9clats depuis leur d\u00e9but. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipe a remarqu\u00e9 que pr\u00e8s de 80 % des feux de camp \u00e9taient pr\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9s d&rsquo;une structure sombre compos\u00e9e de plasma froid, a indiqu\u00e9 Navdeep Panesar le 9 avril lors du sommet triennal Terre-Soleil.<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Lorsque ce plasma froid s&rsquo;\u00e9l\u00e8ve, une \u00e9claircie appara\u00eet en-dessous de lui. Cette \u00e9claircie se transforme en feu de camp\u00a0\u00bb, explique M. On pense que les feux de camp sont produits par des m\u00e9canismes similaires, bien que les chercheurs n&rsquo;aient pas encore r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 les comprendre enti\u00e8rement.<\/p>\n<p>Comme les feux de camp ont tendance \u00e0 atteindre une temp\u00e9rature comprise entre un demi-million et 2,5 millions de degr\u00e9s Celsius, on pense qu&rsquo;ils contribuent \u00e0 chauffer l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re du soleil, la couronne, dont la temp\u00e9rature est de l&rsquo;ordre du million de degr\u00e9s.
