Cet itin\u00e9raire majeur entre l&rsquo;Allemagne et le Danemark, actuellement emprunt\u00e9 par des ferries, va bient\u00f4t \u00eatre dot\u00e9 d&rsquo;une liaison fixe r\u00e9volutionnaire, le tunnel Fehmarnbelt.<\/p>\n<p>Fehmarnbelt repr\u00e9sente aujourd&rsquo;hui un exploit d&rsquo;ing\u00e9nierie sans pr\u00e9c\u00e9dent :<\/p>\n<p>Plongeant \u00e0 40 m\u00e8tres sous la mer Baltique, ce tunnel immerg\u00e9 mesure 18 kilom\u00e8tres de longueur, ce qui en fait le tunnel sous-marin le plus long du monde.<br \/>\nCe projet colossal repr\u00e9sente un investissement de 7 milliards d&rsquo;euros.<br \/>\nEt ce n&rsquo;est toujours pas tout ! L&rsquo;une des choses qui rend ce tunnel unique, c&rsquo;est sa m\u00e9thode de construction novatrice : au lieu d&rsquo;utiliser des tunneliers, il sera construit \u00e0 partir de 89 gigantesques sections pr\u00e9fabriqu\u00e9es, chacune pesant 73 500 tonnes et mesurant 217 m\u00e8tres de long.<br \/>\nCes sections seront \u00ab\u00a0largu\u00e9es\u00a0\u00bb dans la mer Baltique et immerg\u00e9es avec une pr\u00e9cision extr\u00eame. En l\u2019\u00e9tat d\u2019ach\u00e8vement, il comprendra une double voie ferr\u00e9e et une autoroute \u00e0 quatre voies, le tout sur une longueur totale de 18km. Le temps de transit par le tunnel est estim\u00e9 \u00e0 sept minutes en train, et dix minutes pour les v\u00e9hicules routiers. A l\u2019avenir, les trains de fret auront 160 kilom\u00e8tres de moins \u00e0 parcourir en s\u2019\u00e9pargnant le d\u00e9tour par voie terrestre en territoire danois.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e8s le d\u00e9but de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 2024, le creusement du premier tron\u00e7on du tunnel commencera. Femern A\/S, l&rsquo;entreprise danoise en charge du projet, estime que la production des premi\u00e8res sections sera termin\u00e9e fin 2022 ou d\u00e9but 2023.
