En 2016, la soci\u00e9t\u00e9 suisse Nanoflowcell avait pr\u00e9sent\u00e9 une voiture \u00e9lectrique capable de rouler avec de l\u2019eau sal\u00e9e. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 un syst\u00e8me \u00ab \u00e9lectrolytique \u00bb \u2014 qui utilise le principe de l\u2019\u00e9lectrolyse, l\u2019eau circule \u00e0 travers une membrane pour se convertir ensuite en \u00e9nergie \u00e9lectrique et ainsi alimenter le v\u00e9hicule. Seul b\u00e9mol, et celui l\u00e0 aussi est sal\u00e9 : les caract\u00e9ristiques techniques de l\u2019engin ne lui donnent pas assez de puissance pour rouler.
