Aujourd&rsquo;hui, 14 ans plus tard, tous les syst\u00e8mes semblent enfin pr\u00eats \u00e0 fonctionner.<\/p>\n<p>D\u00e9couvrez-le \u2013 de nouvelles photos de la NASA montrent que le t\u00e9lescope est sur la rampe de lancement ! La mission a \u00e9t\u00e9 qualifi\u00e9e de \u00ab pari astronomique le plus cher de l&rsquo;histoire \u00bb.<\/p>\n<p>Apr\u00e8s un voyage de 29 jours, Ariane5 d\u00e9posera JWST, \u00e0 environ 1,5 million de kilom\u00e8tres de notre plan\u00e8te au point Lagrange. A un endroit stable o\u00f9 les forces gravitationnelles de la Terre et du Soleil s&rsquo;annulent, le t\u00e9lescope pourra observer l&rsquo;Univers plus en d\u00e9tail que jamais auparavant.<\/p>\n<p>Le t\u00e9lescope effectuera principalement des observations dans l&rsquo;infrarouge, tandis que Hubble fonctionnera principalement dans les longueurs d&rsquo;onde optiques et ultraviolettes. Cela signifie que JWST sera en mesure de d\u00e9tecter des \u00e9l\u00e9ments trop \u00e9loign\u00e9s, froids ou faibles que Hubble puisse voir.<\/p>\n<p>En th\u00e9orie, JWST serait capable de d\u00e9tecter une signature thermique d&rsquo;un bourdon sur la Terre depuis la Lune. Avec James Webb, on pourra observer les confins de l&rsquo;espace 100 fois mieux qu\u2019on ne peut le faire aujourd\u2019hui. Objectif : aller voir jusqu\u2019\u00e0 11,5 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8res d\u2019ici. \u00ab On a \u00e9tudi\u00e9 \u00e0 fond un \u00e9chantillon de galaxies situ\u00e9 \u00e0 \u00ab seulement \u00bb 3 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8res de chez nous. Avec le James Webb, on va observer des galaxies \u00e0 11,5 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8res. \u00bb. La vision infrarouge du JWST permettra aussi de mieux ausculter les exoplan\u00e8tes. \u201cJames Webb ne va pas d\u00e9couvrir de nouvelles plan\u00e8tes, nous le pointerons vers celles d\u00e9j\u00e0 connues.<\/p>\n<p>Les choses que nous apprendrons de JWST sont sur le point de r\u00e9viser notre compr\u00e9hension de l&rsquo;Univers, et franchement, nous ne pouvons plus attendre.<\/p>\n<p>Bonne chance, petit t\u00e9lescope mais qui sera grand par ses d\u00e9couvertes. Les premiers r\u00e9sultats doivent donc \u00eatre connus rapidement.
