C&rsquo;est ce qui semble se dessiner de plus en plus si on analyse la situation de cette lune.\u00a0Les scientifiques sont assez confiants : la 6e lune de Jupiter, Europe, abriterait un vaste oc\u00e9an souterrain ! Mais pourrait-elle avoir de l\u2019eau \u00e0 sa surface ? Selon une nouvelle \u00e9tude, oui, peut-\u00eatre. C\u2019est une bonne nouvelle pour tous ceux qui esp\u00e8rent envoyer une sonde robotis\u00e9e sur la lune glac\u00e9e. Et cela pourrait \u00eatre une bonne nouvelle pour quiconque s\u2019int\u00e9resse \u00e0 la possibilit\u00e9 de la vie sur ce satellite de Jupiter. Cela serait \u00e9galement une nouveaut\u00e9 pour notre syst\u00e8me solaire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">C\u2019 est le sixi\u00e8me plus grand satellite du syst\u00e8me solaire et le deuxi\u00e8me plus grand de Jupiter. C\u2019est la seconde des lunes galil\u00e9ennes. Europe est l\u00e9g\u00e8rement plus petite que la Lune; son diam\u00e8tre est de 3138 km. Son orbite est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 670 900 km de Jupiter et sa p\u00e9riode de r\u00e9volution est de 3 jours 13 heures 13.7 minutes. La gravit\u00e9 \u00e0 la surface est de 1.31.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Le satellite poss\u00e8de une tr\u00e8s mince atmosph\u00e8re compos\u00e9e principalement de dioxyg\u00e8ne, mais la temp\u00e9rature ne d\u00e9passant pas les -150\u00b0C, en y allant il n\u2019est pas possible de s\u2019y promener \u00e0 l\u2019air libre. D\u00e9couvert par Galil\u00e9e et Marius en 1610, avec Io, Europe est assez semblable en composition aux plan\u00e8tes telluriques: il est principalement compos\u00e9 de roches silicat\u00e9es. Contrairement \u00e0 Io, Europe poss\u00e8de une fine couche ext\u00e9rieure de glace. Des donn\u00e9es r\u00e9centes indiquent qu\u2019il poss\u00e8de une structure de couches internes avec peut-\u00eatre un petit noyau m\u00e9tallique.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Cependant sa surface est extr\u00eamement lisse. On a pu y observer un tr\u00e8s faible relief. Il y a tr\u00e8s peu de crat\u00e8res ; seulement trois de plus de 5 km de diam\u00e8tre ont \u00e9t\u00e9 trouv\u00e9s. Puis, dans le laboratoire de Hand, ils ont test\u00e9 divers sels et autres produits chimiques pour comparer les signaux. Les signaux identifi\u00e9s correspondent au sulfate de magn\u00e9sium.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ceci est int\u00e9ressant, car cela montre qu\u2019Europe a un certain type d\u2019activit\u00e9 chimique et de transfert d\u2019\u00e9nergie \u00e0 sa surface. Ce satellite d\u2019une dimension plut\u00f4t modeste \u2013 3 130 km de diam\u00e8tre contre 3 476 km pour la Lune \u2013 circule en effet sur une orbite l\u00e9g\u00e8rement elliptique \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 671 000 km de Jupiter. C\u2019est moins de 2 fois plus loin que la Lune autour de la Terre et Jupiter est beaucoup plus volumineuse (143 000 km de diam\u00e8tre \u00e9quatorial) et 318 plus massive que la Terre. Les cons\u00e9quences en terme de forces de mar\u00e9es ressenties par Europe sont majeures et ce corps est pour ainsi dire malax\u00e9 par l\u2019attraction gravitationnelle intense de Jupiter, ce qui entretient un \u00e9chauffement interne capable de faire fondre partiellement la couche de glace d\u2019eau qui l\u2019enveloppe. Selon les r\u00e9sultats publi\u00e9s, les valeurs sont mont\u00e9es jusqu\u2019\u00e0 0,12% de cette mol\u00e9cule par rapport \u00e0 l&rsquo;eau constituant la cro\u00fbte de glace, laquelle recouvre un oc\u00e9an.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Or, le peroxyde d&rsquo;hydrog\u00e8ne, ou eau oxyg\u00e9n\u00e9e, est un moteur \u00e0 \u00e9nergie potentiel que peuvent utiliser les processus biochimiques de la vie. Celui-ci est produit par l&rsquo;interm\u00e9diaire des intenses radiations frappant la surface d&rsquo;Europe. Mais jusqu&rsquo;ici, les astronomes ne pensaient pas qu&rsquo;il \u00e9tait aussi fr\u00e9quent sur la Lune.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00ab\u00a0Sur Terre, la disponibilit\u00e9 des oxydants comme le peroxyde a \u00e9t\u00e9 un \u00e9l\u00e9ment essentiel pour une progression de la complexit\u00e9 vers une vie multicellulaire. Sur Europe, des compos\u00e9s abondants comme le peroxyde pourraient contribuer \u00e0 satisfaire les besoins en \u00e9nergie chimique n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 la vie dans l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an.
