Pas moins de six \u00e9ruptions majeures ont \u00e9t\u00e9 enregistr\u00e9es ces derniers jours. Toutes proviennent d\u2019un groupe de taches connu sous le nom d\u2019AR2192. Le plus gros jamais observ\u00e9 depuis 2001. De mani\u00e8re g\u00e9n\u00e9ral, le Soleil connait p\u00e9riodiquement des cycles d\u2019intenses activit\u00e9 d&rsquo;une dur\u00e9e d\u2019environ onze ans. Le dernier en date, ou cycle 24, est en train de se jouer actuellement.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-size: small; color: #000000; line-height: 1.3em;\">Ces p\u00e9riodes d\u2019activit\u00e9 se traduisent par la pr\u00e9sences de nombreuses taches sombres \u00e0 la surface de l\u2019astre. \u2028\u2028Ces taches solaires correspondent \u00e0 des zones de l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re au champ magn\u00e9tique plus important et \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature relativement plus basse. Elle est fr\u00e9quemment secou\u00e9e par des \u00e9ruptions qui projettent d\u2019\u00e9normes quantit\u00e9s de plasma (gaz ionis\u00e9) depuis la chromosph\u00e8re, la partie basse de l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re solaire, jusque dans l\u2019espace. Ces \u00e9ruptions solaires provoquent des orages magn\u00e9tiques qui peuvent perturber les satellites et les moyens de communication sur Terre.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Des chercheurs fran\u00e7ais viennent d\u2019identifier un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne cl\u00e9 dans le d\u00e9clenchement des \u00e9ruptions solaires. Tout se joue en fait dans la photosph\u00e8re (la surface du Soleil) au niveau des taches solaires qui correspondent aux zones les plus froides de la surface et qui abritent des champs magn\u00e9tiques intenses.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">CORDES. Au niveau des taches solaires apparaissent des cordes magn\u00e9tiques constitu\u00e9es d\u2019un enchev\u00eatrement de lignes de force magn\u00e9tiques torsad\u00e9es comme une corde de chanvre. Elles \u00e9mergent de l\u2019int\u00e9rieur du Soleil et gagnent de l\u2019\u00e9nergie au fur et \u00e0 mesure de leur mont\u00e9e vers la photosph\u00e8re. Selon les calculs lorsqu\u2019une corde est compl\u00e8tement form\u00e9e, une \u00e9ruption solaire peut se produire dans les 24 heures qui suivent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Des simulations num\u00e9riques ont permis de confirmer que ce sont bien les cordes magn\u00e9tiques qui sont \u00e0 l\u2019origine des \u00e9ruptions : au del\u00e0 d\u2019une certaine \u00e9nergie et \u00e0 une altitude donn\u00e9e les arcades magn\u00e9tiques qui retiennent la corde s&rsquo;affaiblissent. Il met en \u00e9vidence la pr\u00e9sence d&rsquo;une corde magn\u00e9tique (en gris) quelques heures avant l&rsquo;\u00e9ruption, maintenue \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9tat d&rsquo;\u00e9quilibre par des arcades magn\u00e9tiques (en orange).<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Gr\u00e2ce aux satellites qui surveillent le Soleil et l\u2019\u00e9volution de son champ magn\u00e9tique, la pr\u00e9vision des \u00e9ruptions solaires appara\u00eet d\u00e9sormais comme un objectif plausible.
