Mais ce sp\u00e9cimen \u00e9tait inhabituel en ce sens qu&rsquo;il mesurait environ 2 m\u00e8tres de long et poss\u00e9dait encore le troc de la racine. De plus, il \u00e9tait aussi \u00e9tonnamment intact et contenait m\u00eame de l&rsquo;\u00e9corce.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_21848\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-21848\" style=\"width: CHRISTIAN SCHL\u00dcCHTER<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Le bon \u00e9tat inhabituel du tronc du m\u00e9l\u00e8ze signifiait qu&rsquo;il ne devait pas avoir train\u00e9 vers des altitudes plus basses par le glacier, et donc il n&rsquo;a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 broy\u00e9 dans ce processus. Cela signifie que son emplacement d&rsquo;aujourd&rsquo;hui devait \u00eatre tr\u00e8s proche de l&rsquo;endroit o\u00f9 il avait pouss\u00e9 \u00e0 son origine.<\/p>\n<p>Le SRF a rapport\u00e9:<\/p>\n<p>\u00abC&rsquo;est unique\u00bb, d\u00e9clare Schl\u00fcchter, affirmant qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;a jamais rien d\u00e9couvert de tel dans les Alpes. Les recherches montrent que le m\u00e9l\u00e8ze a commenc\u00e9 \u00e0 pousser il y a environ 10 800 ans, moins de 1000 ans apr\u00e8s la fin de la derni\u00e8re p\u00e9riode glaciaire.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte nous dit qu&rsquo;il y avait autrefois des for\u00eats o\u00f9 se trouvent des glaciers aujourd&rsquo;hui, ce qui signifie que \u00able glacier de Morteratsch \u00e9tait autrefois beaucoup plus petit qu&rsquo;il ne l&rsquo;est aujourd&rsquo;hui\u00bb, rapporte la SRF. La r\u00e9gion \u00e9tait \u00e9videmment plus chaude qu&rsquo;aujourd&rsquo;hui.<\/p>\n<p>Changement climatique rapide il y a 10500 ans<\/p>\n<p>Schl\u00fcchter souligne \u00e9galement qu&rsquo;\u00e0 peine 1 000 ans apr\u00e8s la fin de la p\u00e9riode glaciaire, il y avait d\u00e9j\u00e0 des m\u00e9l\u00e8zes l\u00e0-haut. Schl\u00fcchter dit: \u00abCela montre la dynamique inou\u00efe que nous voyons ici.\u00bb<\/p>\n<p>D&rsquo;autres \u00e9tudes seront men\u00e9es sur le sp\u00e9cimen d&rsquo;arbre et des parties du grand tronc seront expos\u00e9es dans le mus\u00e9e de Pontresina \u00e0 l&rsquo;avenir, \u00e9crit la SRF.<\/p>\n<p>Christian Schl\u00fcchter est professeur \u00e9m\u00e9rite de g\u00e9ologie et pal\u00e9oclimatologie du quaternaire \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Berne en Suisse.
