Il y a 10 ans, l&rsquo;Agence spatiale europ\u00e9enne (ESA) a envoy\u00e9 dans l&rsquo;espace un engin pas comme les autres : une sonde pr\u00e9nomm\u00e9e Rosetta et \u00e9quip\u00e9e d&rsquo;un atterrisseur Philae. Objectif : r\u00e9aliser une premi\u00e8re dans l&rsquo;histoire du spatial, \u00e0 savoir atterrir sur une com\u00e8te. Aujourd&rsquo;hui, Rosetta se rapproche de plus en plus de son but, amenant quelques surprises aux scientifiques.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">En effet, la com\u00e8te 67P\/Churyumov-Gerasimenko que doit \u00e9tudier la sonde n&rsquo;a pas tout \u00e0 fait la forme attendue. C&rsquo;est ce que viennent de r\u00e9v\u00e9ler des images captur\u00e9es le 14 juillet par la cam\u00e9ra OSIRIS embarqu\u00e9e \u00e0 bord de la sonde, qui se trouvait \u00e0 ce moment-l\u00e0 \u00e0 pr\u00e8s de 12.000 km de la com\u00e8te, \u00ab\u00a0pas loin de la distance qui s\u00e9pare la France de Hawa\u00ef\u00a0\u00bb, rel\u00e8ve le CNRS. Sur ces images, les chercheurs ont observ\u00e9 \u00ab\u00a0un noyau remarquable, form\u00e9 de deux composantes imbriqu\u00e9es formant un ensemble binaire en contact\u00a0\u00bb.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Autrement dit, la com\u00e8te serait compos\u00e9e de deux parties distinctes, comme on le voit sur la vid\u00e9o ci-dessus. \u00ab\u00a0Certains ont d\u00e9j\u00e0 reconnu la forme grossi\u00e8re d&rsquo;un petit canard, dont on distinguerait d&rsquo;un c\u00f4t\u00e9 le corps et de l&rsquo;autre la t\u00eate\u00a0\u00bb, souligne l&rsquo;ESA. Une op\u00e9ration tr\u00e8s d\u00e9licate et encore jamais r\u00e9alis\u00e9e. Si tout se passe bien, Philae profitera des mois suivants pour \u00e9tudier la com\u00e8te et en savoir plus sur elle. Cela pourrait notamment permettre de trouver une explication \u00e0 sa forme atypique.\u00a0 Les scientifiques essaieront de d\u00e9terminer si les deux parties ont un jour \u00e9t\u00e9 des corps distincts qui se sont assembl\u00e9s. Churyumov-Gerasimenko \u00ab\u00a0pourrait illustrer magnifiquement le processus cl\u00e9 d&rsquo;accr\u00e9tion des petits corps qui a conduit \u00e0 la formation de notre syst\u00e8me solaire\u00a0\u00bb, a \u00e9crit le CNRS.
