Comment expliquer un tel ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne ?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Decker : Les mod\u00e8les climatiques ont leurs limites. Ils l\u2019ont d\u2019ailleurs d\u00e9j\u00e0 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 en \u00e9chouant sur l\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9ration du r\u00e9chauffement pr\u00e9vue pour la d\u00e9cennie 2000-2010 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle plan\u00e9taire. Au lieu de cela, la temp\u00e9rature moyenne globale de notre plan\u00e8te a stagn\u00e9, voire tr\u00e8s l\u00e9g\u00e8rement augment\u00e9. C\u2019est aussi le cas dans les pr\u00e9visions de comportement des banquises arctique et antarctique.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Le fait que la banquise antarctique progresse cette ann\u00e9e n\u2019est pas tr\u00e8s \u00e9tonnant.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">La variabilit\u00e9 naturelle du climat fait que ce type de fluctuation reste \u00ab\u00a0normal\u00a0\u00bb. La Terre vient de conna\u00eetre son deuxi\u00e8me printemps le plus chaud depuis la fin du 19e si\u00e8cle, juste derri\u00e8re le printemps 2010. Il faut rester prudent car il se trouve que contrairement \u00e0 l\u2019Arctique, la glace de mer de l\u2019Antarctique est annuelle, c\u2019est-\u00e0-dire qu\u2019elle grossit en hiver (l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 pour nous) et dispara\u00eet quasiment en \u00e9t\u00e9. De ce fait, les variations entre les ann\u00e9es sont tr\u00e8s importantes, c\u2019est ce qu\u2019on appelle la variabilit\u00e9 interannuelle.<span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Malgr\u00e9 tout, il est vrai que depuis quelques ann\u00e9es, il y a une tendance globale \u00e0 l\u2019augmentation des \u00e9tendues glac\u00e9es, et qui est suffisamment importante pour qu\u2019elle remette en cause les mod\u00e8les de simulation.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Pourtant, le programme de mod\u00e9lisation de l&rsquo;\u00e9volution des banquises utilis\u00e9 par les Nations-Unies pr\u00e9voit une diminution de sa surface, et non une augmentation. Peut-on mettre en cause les param\u00e8tres qui le composent ?<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric D\u00e9cker : Les mod\u00e8les climatiques \u00e9chouent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement, comme je le disais plus haut, plus encore sur les projections des pr\u00e9cipitations \u00e0 venir. Le cas de l\u2019Antarctique est toutefois particulier : le r\u00e9chauffement est peu marqu\u00e9, et concerne essentiellement la frange littorale du continent glac\u00e9 ; une grande partie int\u00e9rieur de l\u2019Antarctique stagne, voire se refroidit ! Ce l\u00e9ger r\u00e9chauffement c\u00f4tier s\u2019accompagne de pr\u00e9cipitations plus abondantes que dans un pass\u00e9 r\u00e9cent, augmentant donc la masse neigeuse pr\u00e8s des c\u00f4tes, neige qui se transforme en glace et donc en banquise lors des hivers extr\u00eamement froids de cette partie du monde. Cette extension est donc logique, elle pourrait m\u00eame perdurer dans les ann\u00e9es, voire les d\u00e9cennies \u00e0 venir avant, peut-\u00eatre, un recul ult\u00e9rieur. Les climatologues planchent r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement sur les mod\u00e8les climatiques qui demandent fr\u00e9quemment des r\u00e9glages.
