Cependant, il n\u2019y a pas de vie actuellement sur Mars (du moins \u00e0 notre connaissance). Et pourtant, aujourd\u2019hui, le rover Curiosity de la NASA a peut-\u00eatre trouv\u00e9 un signe de vie pass\u00e9e \u00e0 la surface de la plan\u00e8te.<\/p>\n<p>Des compos\u00e9s organiques connus sous le nom de thioph\u00e8nes se trouvent sur Terre : dans le charbon, le p\u00e9trole brut et, curieusement, dans les truffes blanches (le champignon appr\u00e9ci\u00e9 des \u00e9picuriens et des cochons sauvages). \u00c0 pr\u00e9sent, des thioph\u00e8nes ont \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9couverts sur Mars, et l\u2019astrobiologiste Dirk Schulze-Makuch, de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 de l\u2019\u00c9tat de Washington, pense que leur pr\u00e9sence serait compatible avec l\u2019existence d\u2019une vie pr\u00e9coce sur Mars.<\/p>\n<p>Schulze-Makuch et Jacob Heinz, de la Technische Universit\u00e4t de Berlin, explorent en effet certaines des voies possibles pour les origines des thioph\u00e8nes sur la plan\u00e8te rouge. Des preuves qui pourraient bien provenir du prochain rover, le Rosalind Franklin, qui devrait \u00eatre lanc\u00e9 en juillet 2020.
