Mais qui est donc Trevor Jackson ? Cet Anglais de 58 ans a travaill\u00e9 pour Rolls-Royce puis a \u00e9t\u00e9 en charge des r\u00e9acteurs d\u2019un sous-marin nucl\u00e9aire pour l\u2019arm\u00e9e britannique. Ing\u00e9nieur de formation, il s\u2019est d\u00e9cid\u00e9 \u00e0 se mettre \u00e0 son compte en 1999. Et c\u2019est l\u00e0 que le vrai voyage commence.<\/p>\n<p>Cela fait 20 ans, install\u00e9 dans un petit village des Cornouailles, qu\u2019il travaille \u00e0 un prototype de batterie \u00e9lectrique. Une nouvelle technologie \u00e0 la fois plus efficace, plus \u00e9conomique \u00e0 produire et plus facilement recyclable que celles actuellement commercialis\u00e9es. Si la technologie reste \u00e9videmment top secr\u00e8te pour l\u2019instant, elle a n\u00e9anmoins \u00e9t\u00e9 valid\u00e9e r\u00e9cemment par deux universit\u00e9s fran\u00e7aises et pourrait \u00e0 terme servir non seulement pour le secteur automobile, mais aussi pour l\u2019aviation. Depuis, cet ancien officier de la Royal Navy a re\u00e7u une bourse d\u00e9livr\u00e9e par l\u2019Advanced Propulsion Centre ; la mise en production de son invention ne devrait donc plus tarder.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019un des nombreux avantages de ce nouveau type de batterie est non seulement son recyclage facilit\u00e9 par rapport aux batteries traditionnelles, mais aussi son autonomie. 2400 kilom\u00e8tres, c\u2019est plus de quatre fois la distance actuellement obtenue par les voitures \u00e9lectriques les plus performantes du march\u00e9. En sachant qu\u2019un automobiliste fran\u00e7ais roule en moyenne 13 000 kilom\u00e8tres par an, cela signifierait qu\u2019il n\u2019aurait plus \u00e0 s\u2019arr\u00eater \u00e0 une station-service que 6 fois par an.
