Dans le cadre d&rsquo;un projet de recherche europ\u00e9en, lanc\u00e9 en juin 2011, un nouveau k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne \u00abvert\u00bb a \u00e9t\u00e9 synth\u00e9tis\u00e9 en laboratoire. \u00c0 long terme, cette recherche pourrait permettre aux avions d&rsquo;avoir un bilan nul pour les \u00e9missions de carbone dans l&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ce carburant a \u00e9t\u00e9 obtenu \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;eau, de gaz carbonique &#8211; premier contributeur des gaz \u00e0 effet de serre &#8211; et des rayons du soleil concentr\u00e9s, utilis\u00e9s comme source de chaleur, ont annonc\u00e9 le 28 avril 2014 les participants du projet \u00abSolar-Jet\u00bb. Il s&rsquo;agit d&rsquo;une r\u00e9action thermochimique tr\u00e8s gourmande en \u00e9nergie. L&rsquo;\u00e9mission des rayons du soleil a \u00e9t\u00e9 reconstitu\u00e9e en laboratoire \u00e0 partir d&rsquo;une source artificielle. Puis, au moyen d&rsquo;un processus chimique bien connu, appel\u00e9 Fischer-Tropsch, Shell a converti le gaz synth\u00e9tique en hydrocarbures. Les quantit\u00e9s obtenues sont infinit\u00e9simales, et ne pourraient servir qu&rsquo;\u00e0 faire voler un appareil miniature pendant quelques minutes. \u00abLa synth\u00e8se a permis d&rsquo;obtenir 50 g de liquide et d&rsquo;hydrocarbures sous forme de cire, pr\u00e9cise Andreas Sizmann, coordinateur du projet chez Bauhaus Luftfahrt. Un pari plus difficile \u00e0 atteindre. \u00abAu cours du baril actuel, la synth\u00e8se Fischer-Tropsch est encore loin d&rsquo;\u00eatre rentable\u00bb, temp\u00e8re Franck Dumeignil, professeur \u00e0 l&rsquo;universit\u00e9 Lille-I en sciences et technologies. \u00abL&rsquo;efficacit\u00e9 du r\u00e9acteur va progresser quand sa taille augmentera car moins de chaleur sera perdue\u00bb, assure Andreas Sizmann qui ajoute que la r\u00e9action devrait consommer de 3 \u00e0 4 litres d&rsquo;eau par litre de carburant synth\u00e9tis\u00e9, dont 2 litres pour nettoyer les miroirs et de 1 \u00e0 2 litres pour produire le carburant. Mais les 2 litres utilis\u00e9s pour les miroirs pourront \u00eatre recycl\u00e9s, et la consommation d&rsquo;eau serait moindre que pour les autres voies de production de k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne \u00e0 partir de plantes et de r\u00e9actions biochimiques ou chimiques.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Enfin, de nombreux tests devront \u00eatre effectu\u00e9s pour garantir la qualit\u00e9 du carburant vert, m\u00eame si Shell a d\u00e9j\u00e0 obtenu l&rsquo;agr\u00e9ment pour un k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne obtenu par la m\u00eame synth\u00e8se, \u00e0 partir de gaz naturel (m\u00e9thane) au Qatar.
