Ces sondes voyagent dans l\u2019espace depuis les ann\u00e9es 1970, leur voyage n\u2019est pas termin\u00e9. Leur futur agenda, avant qu\u2019elles ne cessent de fonctionner, comprend une s\u00e9rie de rendez-vous stellaires: ce sont les deux paires de sondes de la Nasa Voyager et Pioneer lanc\u00e9es il y a 40 ans. Deux chercheurs, Coryn AL Bailer-Jones de l\u2019Institut Max Planck pour l\u2019astronomie et Davide Farnocchia de la JAP de la NASA, ont tent\u00e9 &#8211; avec des calculs et des simulations &#8211; de tracer le chemin parcouru par le quatuor dans les mill\u00e9naires \u00e0 venir et ont illustr\u00e9 leurs hypoth\u00e8ses dans un article \u00ab\u00a0Les futurs objets vollants stellaires du vaisseau spatial Voyager et Pioneer\u00a0\u00bb, r\u00e9cemment publi\u00e9 dans Research Notes de la American Astronomical Society.<\/p>\n<p>La sonde Pioneer 10 a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9e en mars 1972, alors que son jumeau Pioneer 11 a \u00e9t\u00e9 lanc\u00e9 en avril 1973 ; le couple Voyager, en revanche, commence son aventure spatiale quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard, en 1977. \u00c0 l&rsquo;heure actuelle, Voyager 1 et Voyager 2 ont pass\u00e9 l&rsquo;h\u00e9liopause et ont atteint l&rsquo;espace interstellaire, ce qui en fait les artefacts humains les plus lointains jamais lanc\u00e9s. Les deux pionniers, qui continuent leur voyage, ont depuis longtemps interrompu la communication avec la Terre: pioneer 10 en 2003 et pioneer 11 en 1995. Proxima Centauri sera \u00e9galement visit\u00e9 par Voyager 2 et Pioneer 11, tandis que Pioneer 10 ciblera Ross 248, une petite \u00e9toile situ\u00e9e \u00e0 10,3 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de la Terre dans la constellation d\u2019Androm\u00e8de.
