Elle a la taille d\u2019un four \u00e0 micro-ondes. L\u2019engin extrait de l\u2019eau de sa zone d&rsquo;atterrissage, la transforme en vapeur, et l\u2019utilise pour se propulser vers une nouvelle destination. Cela ressemblerait presque \u00e0 une sorte de roman oubli\u00e9 de Jules Verne !<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous pourrions potentiellement utiliser cette technologie pour sauter sur la Lune, Ceres, Europe, Titan, Pluton, les p\u00f4les de Mercure, les ast\u00e9ro\u00efdes &#8211; partout o\u00f9 il y a de l&rsquo;eau et une gravit\u00e9 suffisamment basse\u00a0\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 dans un communiqu\u00e9 Phil Metzger, chercheur \u00e0 l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 de Floride Center.<\/p>\n<p>Le processus fonctionne pour une multitudes de sc\u00e9narios en fonction de la gravit\u00e9 de chaque objet celeste, explique Metzger. L&rsquo;engin utilise des panneaux solaires d\u00e9ployables pour obtenir suffisamment d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie pour l&rsquo;extraction et la fabrication de la vapeur. Il peut \u00e9galement utiliser de petites unit\u00e9s de d\u00e9sint\u00e9gration radioscopique pour \u00e9tendre la port\u00e9e potentielle de ces voyages plan\u00e9taires jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Pluton et d&rsquo;autres endroits \u00e9loign\u00e9s du soleil.<\/p>\n<p>Metzger a mis trois ans \u00e0 d\u00e9velopper les technologies n\u00e9cessaires pour concr\u00e9tiser cette id\u00e9e.
