Une nouvelle \u00e9tude refl\u00e8te une vision surprenante et diff\u00e9rente de ces lacs et mers de notre monde, avec de petites vagues qui les ondulent. Publi\u00e9s dans la revue Earth and Planetary Science Letters, des chercheurs dirig\u00e9s par l&rsquo;Universit\u00e9 du Texas ont constat\u00e9 que les vagues sur Titan atteignent une hauteur d&rsquo;environ 1 centim\u00e8tre seulement.<\/p>\n<p>La d\u00e9couverte a \u00e9t\u00e9 faite en utilisant les donn\u00e9es radar de la sonde spatiale Cassini. L&rsquo;auteur principal de l&rsquo;\u00e9tude, Cyril Grima, a mis au point une technique permettant de mesurer la \u00ab\u00a0rugosit\u00e9 de la surface\u00a0\u00bb avec un niveau de d\u00e9tail vraiment excellent. Et assez pour mesurer les vagues comme \u00e9tant pas plus de 1,5 \u00e0 2,5 pouces de hauteur. Comme les vents de Titan sont actuellement faibles et que la lune est actuellement en \u00ab\u00a0\u00e9t\u00e9\u00a0\u00bb, cela soul\u00e8ve \u00e9galement des doutes quant \u00e0 l&rsquo;id\u00e9e que l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 est la saison la plus venteuse de Titan.<\/p>\n<p>Les lacs de Titan ne ressemblent pas \u00e0 ceux de la Terre. Les n\u00f4tres sont constitu\u00e9s d\u2019eau mais, sur Titan, ils sont compos\u00e9s d\u2019hydrocarbures liquides, qui sont essentiellement les ingr\u00e9dients du carbur\u00e9acteur.
