Quel dommage de ne pas utiliser cette ressource. \u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Le jeune designer fran\u00e7ais Daphnis Fournier est parti de cette \u00e9vidence pour imaginer un majestueux avion solaire.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">La cabine des passagers est surmont\u00e9e d&rsquo;un ballon gonfl\u00e9 \u00e0 l&rsquo;h\u00e9lium, dont la vaste surface est couverte de cellules photovolta\u00efques.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">   <br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">L&rsquo;id\u00e9e est s\u00e9duisante, mais est-elle r\u00e9alisable ? En tout cas, elle titille les chercheurs depuis l&rsquo;apparition sur le march\u00e9 des premi\u00e8res cellules photovolta\u00efques abordables, dans les ann\u00e9es 1970.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Une histoire de pionniers passionn\u00e9s, comme l&rsquo;\u00e9taient les p\u00e8res fondateurs de l&rsquo;aviation il y a plus d&rsquo;un si\u00e8cle.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Ainsi, d\u00e8s 1974, l&rsquo;Am\u00e9ricain Roland Boucher fait voler un prototype sans passager gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 des cellules photovolta\u00efques.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">En 1979, le Mauro Solar Riser est le premier coucou solaire \u00e0 d\u00e9coller avec son pilote, Larry Mauro. Bertrand Picard, psychiatre suisse, fils et petit-fils d&rsquo;explorateurs, en a eu l&rsquo;id\u00e9e \u00e0 la suite de son tour du monde en ballon sans escale en 1999.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Associ\u00e9 \u00e0 Andr\u00e9 Borschberg, un compatriote ing\u00e9nieur et pilote professionnel, il veut prouver avec son projet le potentiel des \u00e9nergies renouvelables.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Leur premier exploit date de 2010 : apr\u00e8s sept ans de recherche, le Solar Impulse vole pour la premi\u00e8re fois, pendant 87 minutes, autour de l&rsquo;a\u00e9rodrome de Payerne, en Suisse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">En juillet de la m\u00eame ann\u00e9e, le prototype effectue un vol de 26 heures, utilisant la nuit l&rsquo;\u00e9nergie solaire accumul\u00e9e le jour.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">En 2011, Solar Impulse relie la Suisse avec la Belgique et la France. L&rsquo;ann\u00e9e suivante, Bertrand Piccard est aux commandes et rejoint, en sept \u00e9tapes, le Maroc en partant de la Suisse.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">En mai prochain, le Solar Impulse traversera les Etats-Unis d&rsquo;ouest en est en quatre escales. En attendant, au sein de sa soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Solar Flight, il d\u00e9veloppe avec passion des avions solaires de plus en plus efficaces.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00ab Ils sont plus rapides que Solar Impulse, explique-t-il, et con\u00e7us pour \u00eatre utilis\u00e9s dans des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9o vari\u00e9es, pour un usage sportif, mais pas pour rester dans les airs toute la nuit. \u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Sunseeker II, construit en 2006, a un moteur deux fois plus puissant que Sunseeker I. Et Sunseeker Duo, \u00ab le premier avion solaire deux places \u00bb, sort tout juste du hangar et sera test\u00e9 dans les prochains mois.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">La r\u00e9volution solaire avance doucement<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Les avions solaires individuels, de loisir, sont donc \u00e0 port\u00e9e de main. Pour les vols au long cours transportant les touristes \u00e0 travers le monde, il faudra patienter encore un bout de temps.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">\u00ab Aujourd&rsquo;hui, il n&rsquo;existe aucun projet industriel d&rsquo;avion solaire, admet Eric Dautriat, directeur de Clean Sky, un programme de recherche a\u00e9ronautique europ\u00e9en lanc\u00e9 en 2008. Et les concepts futuristes sont regard\u00e9s avec condescendance dans le milieu. \u00bb<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Rainer Von Wrede, qui dirige le p\u00f4le environnement chez Airbus, confirme : \u00ab Il existe des \u00e9nergies alternatives. Mais le k\u00e9ros\u00e8ne, utilis\u00e9 aujourd&rsquo;hui, a une densit\u00e9 \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique tr\u00e8s \u00e9lev\u00e9e, sans \u00e9quivalent.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">N&rsquo;importe quelle batterie p\u00e8se beaucoup plus lourd. Il faudrait par ailleurs une envergure de plusieurs kilom\u00e8tres de panneaux solaires pour produire l&rsquo;\u00e9lectricit\u00e9 n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 un Airbus.
