En raison de sa proximit\u00e9 avec l\u2019\u00e9toile de notre syst\u00e8me, la pression \u00e0 la surface est estim\u00e9e \u00e0 90 atmosph\u00e8res et la temp\u00e9rature \u00e0 sa surface atteint les 450 \u00b0C. Des conditions extr\u00eames, et peu adapt\u00e9es au d\u00e9veloppement de la vie. De m\u00eame, les instruments \u00e9lectroniques ne peuvent y tenir longtemps.<\/p>\n<p>C\u2019est la raison pour laquelle les chercheurs n\u2019ont pu rassembler que tr\u00e8s peu d\u2019informations \u00e0 son sujet.<\/p>\n<p>Toutefois, plusieurs missions d\u2019explorations ont \u00e9t\u00e9 men\u00e9es sur place au cours de ces derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, par les agences spatiales mondiales.<\/p>\n<p>Venus, une plan\u00e8te inhospitali\u00e8re<\/p>\n<p>La NASA et l\u2019ESA ont ainsi utilis\u00e9 les ultraviolets pour sonder Venus depuis l\u2019espace. L\u2019agence spatiale am\u00e9ricaine avait m\u00eame envisag\u00e9 de faire atterrir un engin spatial \u00e0 la surface de la plan\u00e8te, dans le cadre de son programme New Frontiers. La mission portait le nom de SAGE pour Surface and Atmosphere Geochemical Explorer.<\/p>\n<p>Cependant, elle avait fini par abandonner le projet. Dans le cadre d\u2019un de leurs programmes, ils ont d\u2019ailleurs r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 l\u00e2cher dans son atmosph\u00e8re des ballons flottants.<\/p>\n<p>Ces derniers ont survol\u00e9 Venus \u00e0 une altitude de 54 kilom\u00e8tres environ et ils ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 l\u2019existence d\u2019une couche caract\u00e9ris\u00e9e par des conditions plus cl\u00e9mentes. Dans cette zone, la temp\u00e9rature est \u00e9valu\u00e9e \u00e0 32 \u00b0C avec une pression de 0,5 atmosph\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>Des micro-organismes sur Venus ?<\/p>\n<p>Cette d\u00e9couverte stup\u00e9fiante a conduit les astronomes et les plan\u00e9tologues \u00e0 r\u00e9aliser de nouvelles \u00e9tudes. Ces derni\u00e8res ont r\u00e9v\u00e9l\u00e9 que Venus n\u2019a pas toujours \u00e9t\u00e9 aussi inhospitali\u00e8re.<\/p>\n<p>D\u2019apr\u00e8s les chercheurs, la plan\u00e8te aurait ainsi pu \u00eatre habitable entre 2,9 milliards d\u2019ann\u00e9es et 175 millions d\u2019ann\u00e9es. Ils pensent m\u00eame qu\u2019elle a pu abriter la vie durant cette p\u00e9riode.<\/p>\n<p>Pour s\u2019en assurer, les Russes et la NASA travaillent sur une mission commune baptis\u00e9e Venera D, une mission visant \u00e0 faire atterrir une sonde sur Venus, une sonde qui sera cette fois capable de tenir plusieurs jours avant de rendre l\u2019\u00e2me.
