Larry Molnar pr\u00e9voit que les deux \u00e9toiles fusionneront et exploseront en 2022. Pendant un an, leur lumi\u00e8re devrait devenir dix mille fois plus importante, faisant de l\u2019\u00e9toile qui r\u00e9sultera de la fusion l\u2019\u00e9toile la plus brillante du ciel pour un certain temps. La Croix du Nord s\u2019appr\u00eate \u00e0 recevoir le plus beau joyaux du ciel. En effet, l\u2019\u00e9toile sera visible depuis la Terre dans la constellation du Cygne.<\/p>\n<p>Larry Molnar a commenc\u00e9 son \u00e9tude de l\u2019\u00e9toile en 2013 apr\u00e8s avoir pris connaissance des travaux de l\u2019astronome Karen Kinemuchi sur les changements lumineux de l\u2019\u00e9toile. D\u00e9sireux de savoir si l\u2019\u00e9toile \u00e9tait une \u00e9toile binaire ou un pulsar, il s\u2019est mis \u00e0 \u00e9tudier sa couleur et sa lumi\u00e8re. Il a ainsi d\u00e9couvert que les \u00e9toiles partageaient une atmosph\u00e8re et un centre de gravit\u00e9 commun. Molnar pr\u00e9senta son hypoth\u00e8se \u00e0 la r\u00e9union de l\u2019union am\u00e9ricaine d\u2019astronomie en Janvier 2015. Mais avant de prendre l\u2019hypoth\u00e8se trop au s\u00e9rieux, l\u2019\u00e9quipe scientifique de Molnar a effectu\u00e9 des tests pendant 2 ans afin d\u2019\u00e9carter toute interpr\u00e9tation alternative.<\/p>\n<p>Aujourd\u2019hui Molnar et son \u00e9quipe pensent sinc\u00e8rement que leur th\u00e9orie se r\u00e9alisera. Ils vont ainsi passer les prochaines ann\u00e9es \u00e0 \u00e9tudier les ondes \u00e9mises par l\u2019\u00e9toile (ondes radio, infrarouge, rayon X\u2026) gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 divers t\u00e9lescopes et observatoires spatiaux (Very Large Array, Infrared Telescope Facility, XMM-Newton spacecraft) pour comprendre les causes de l\u2019explosion.<\/p>\n<p>Si KIC 9832227 venait \u00e0 exploser, Matt Walhout, doyen de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Calvin explique que les chercheurs auraient la certitude qu\u2019ils pourront \u00e0 l\u2019avenir se saisir des \u00e9toiles binaires en d\u00e9clin pour les accompagner dans la mort jusqu\u2019\u00e0 leur apoth\u00e9ose explosive. Il ajoute que le ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne serait charg\u00e9 de sens pour tous ceux qui pourront observer ce changement manifeste du ciel.
