Comment attraper ces fines gouttelettes du matin avant que la br\u00fblure du soleil ne les fasse dispara\u00eetre de la surface du sol ?<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"> <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">   <span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><br \/><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Un chercheur fran\u00e7ais s\u2019est passionn\u00e9 depuis plus de 10 ans pour la r\u00e9cup\u00e9ration de la ros\u00e9e.\u00a0 Daniel Beysens, physicien de l\u2019ESPCI, a cr\u00e9\u00e9 l\u2019association Opur qui milite pour l\u2019installation de condenseurs de ros\u00e9e dans les endroits priv\u00e9s de puits. Mais voici qu\u2019une autre solution est propos\u00e9e par des chercheurs de l\u2019universit\u00e9 de Eindhoven associ\u00e9s \u00e0 une \u00e9quipe de l\u2019universit\u00e9 polytechnique de Hong Kong PolyU). Ensemble, ils ont mis au point un nouveau mat\u00e9riau \u00e0 base de\u2026 coton.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">Oui du simple coton. Comme nous l\u2019appelons souvent y pr\u00eater attention, du coton hydrophile\u2026 C\u2019est \u00e0 dire qui aime l\u2019eau. Et qui l\u2019absorbe. Install\u00e9 dans un milieu d\u00e9sertique, il peut donc se gorger de l\u2019eau captur\u00e9e dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re, dans la brume, la ros\u00e9e. Tr\u00e8s bien. Mais deux probl\u00e8mes se posent alors : quelle quantit\u00e9 d\u2019eau une certaine masse de coton peut-elle absorber ? En fait, avec leurs coll\u00e8gues de Hong Kong, ils ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 un nouveau mat\u00e9riau aux propri\u00e9t\u00e9s remarquables. Pour cela, ils ont impr\u00e9gn\u00e9 les fibres de coton avec un polym\u00e8re, le PNIPPAAm, qui n\u2019est autre que du Poly(N-isopropylacrylamide). Il s\u2019agit d\u2019un hydrogel (un gel qui aime l\u2019eau) dont la caract\u00e9ristique est de changer de phase \u00e0 la temp\u00e9rature tr\u00e8s pr\u00e9cise de 34\u00b0C. Cette modification physique engendre un comportement radicalement invers\u00e9. L\u2019association avec le polym\u00e8re transforme compl\u00e8tement le comportement du coton mais aussi sa capacit\u00e9 d\u2019absorption. Cette derni\u00e8re passe de 18% de son poids en eau, \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9tat pur, \u00e0 340% lorsqu\u2019il est impr\u00e9gn\u00e9. Autrement dit, 1 kg de coton non trait\u00e9 peut contenir 180 grammes d\u2019eau (0,18 l). Le processus, presque magique tant il est adapt\u00e9 aux usages possibles, ouvre de vastes perspectives. En particulier pour l\u2019agriculture. Lorsque le soleil monte et que la temp\u00e9rature d\u00e9passe 34\u00b0C, l\u2019eau captur\u00e9e est rel\u00e2ch\u00e9e dans la rigole\u2026 Mais rien ne l\u2019emp\u00eache, alors de s\u2019\u00e9vaporer, remarquerez-vous ! Exact\u2026 Au lieu d\u2019une irrigation par des rigoles d\u2019eau courante, mieux vaudrait sans doute placer le mat\u00e9riau au plus pr\u00e8s des plantes cultiv\u00e9es.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"line-height: 1.3em;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\">La beaut\u00e9 du syst\u00e8me r\u00e9side \u00e9galement dans son fonctionnement automatique.
