Surprise, il y fait plus froid que pr\u00e9vu, elle est moins dense et des ondes de gravit\u00e9 la parcourt.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">L&rsquo;atmosph\u00e8re de V\u00e9nus est plus complexe que pr\u00e9vu<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">C\u2019est la premi\u00e8re fois que l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re au-dessus des r\u00e9gions polaires, entre 130 et 140 km d\u2019altitude, \u00e9tait \u00e9tudi\u00e9e. Jusqu\u2019\u00e0 pr\u00e9sent, sa compr\u00e9hension passait par un mod\u00e8le de r\u00e9f\u00e9rence bas\u00e9 sur les observations des couches \u00e9quatoriales (extrapol\u00e9es \u00e0 l\u2019ensemble de la plan\u00e8te) de la sonde am\u00e9ricaine Pionner Venus, \u00e0 la fin des ann\u00e9es 1970. La temp\u00e9rature moyenne de l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re polaire est en effet de &#8211; 157 \u00b0C. Autre surprise, la densit\u00e9 n\u2019est pas aussi \u00e9lev\u00e9e que pr\u00e9vu : 22 % de moins \u00e0 130 km d\u2019altitude et 40 % de moins \u00e0 140 km. Ces observations sont en accord avec celles des couches sup\u00e9rieures, \u00e0 180 km, o\u00f9 la densit\u00e9 est plus faible de presque un facteur deux. \u00ab Cela montre que le mod\u00e8le existant dresse un tableau trop simpliste de la haute atmosph\u00e8re de V\u00e9nus \u00bb, d\u00e9clare l\u2019auteur principal de l\u2019\u00e9tude publi\u00e9e le 11 avril 2016 dans la revue Nature Physics. Selon lui, \u00ab ces densit\u00e9s plus faibles pourraient \u00eatre au moins en partie dues aux vortex polaires de V\u00e9nus, qui sont des syst\u00e8mes de vents forts pr\u00e8s des p\u00f4les.
