Tout d\u2019abord, le retrait de la glace, d\u00e9couvrant la surface de l\u2019oc\u00e9an, lui permet de se r\u00e9chauffer durant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 sous l\u2019effet du rayonnement solaire. Deuxi\u00e8mement, cette banquise r\u00e9duite ne peut plus emp\u00eacher la chaleur stock\u00e9e par l\u2019oc\u00e9an d\u2019\u00eatre restitu\u00e9e dans l\u2019atmosph\u00e8re (effet de couvercle). En l\u2019absence de ces vents, l\u2019air froid de l\u2019Arctique peut p\u00e9n\u00e9trer \u00e0 travers l\u2019Europe, comme ce fut le cas durant les deux derniers hivers.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Les mod\u00e9lisations montrent que la r\u00e9duction de la banquise durant l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 r\u00e9duit la diff\u00e9rence de pression pendant l\u2019hiver qui suit, permettant ainsi au froid arctique de descendre vers les latitudes moyennes.<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><span style=\"font-size: small;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Malgr\u00e9 la faible \u00e9tendue de la banquise \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 2011, le d\u00e9but de l\u2019hiver a \u00e9t\u00e9 doux, mais M. Jaiser pr\u00e9cise que \u00ab beaucoup d\u2019autres facteurs jouent naturellement un r\u00f4le dans le syst\u00e8me climatique complexe de notre Terre, et se superposent en partie. Nos r\u00e9sultats expliquent les m\u00e9canismes par lesquels les changements r\u00e9gionaux dans la banquise arctique peuvent avoir un impact global, et quels sont leurs effets entre de fin de l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 et la p\u00e9riode hivernale. D\u2019autres m\u00e9canismes sont li\u00e9s, comme par exemple la couverture neigeuse en Sib\u00e9rie ou les influences tropicales.
