L\u2019\u00e9cart positif de temp\u00e9ratures de l\u2019eau de surface dans la zone \u00e9quatoriale du Pacifique a \u00e9t\u00e9 de 2,3 \u00b0C pour la p\u00e9riode d\u2019octobre \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre. Cette nouvelle donn\u00e9e provient de la National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">En 1997-98, soit la derni\u00e8re ann\u00e9e record d\u2019El Ni\u00f1o, l\u2019eau du Pacifique avait \u00e9galement \u00e9t\u00e9 2,3 \u00b0C plus chaude qu\u2019\u00e0 l\u2019habitude (d\u2019octobre \u00e0 d\u00e9cembre).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Les trois El Ni\u00f1o les plus intenses depuis qu\u2019il est \u00e9tudi\u00e9 (1950) sont donc ceux de 1997-98, 2015-16 et 1982-83. En 1998, cet \u00e9cart positif de 2,3 \u00b0C avait perdur\u00e9 jusqu\u2019en janvier. Il s\u2019agissait d\u2019un nouveau record mensuel.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Ici un comparatif entre janvier 1998 et janvier 2016 : la diff\u00e9rence est notable sur l&rsquo;ensemble de l&rsquo;oc\u00e9an pacifique !
