Face \u00e0 cette \u00e9tonnante r\u00e9v\u00e9lation, les scientifiques concentrent d\u00e9sormais tous leurs efforts afin d\u2019identifier cet objet dont la nature demeure pour le moment totalement inconnue\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bien l\u2019on pensait tout conna\u00eetre de la configuration de notre syst\u00e8me solaire, il semblerait pourtant que ce dernier n\u2019ait toujours pas fini de livrer ses secrets. En effet, en utilisant le radiot\u00e9lescope Alma (Acatama Large millimeter Array) de l\u2019Observatoire europ\u00e9en Austral (ESO) au Chili, des astronomes ont rep\u00e9r\u00e9, aux confins de notre syst\u00e8me plan\u00e9taire, un nouvel objet dont la nature demeure pour le moment enti\u00e8rement inconnue.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Comme l\u2019expliquent les scientifiques dans un article qui sera prochainement publi\u00e9 dans la revue Astronomy &amp; Astrophysics, ce corps c\u00e9leste est tellement \u00e9loign\u00e9 du soleil qu\u2019ils ont tout d\u2019abord pens\u00e9 qu\u2019il appartenait \u00e0 notre syst\u00e8me voisin, Alpha du Centaure. Ce dernier est compos\u00e9 de deux \u00e9toiles principales (Alpha Centauri A et Alpha Centauri B) orbitant l\u2019une autour de l\u2019autre, d\u2019au moins une plan\u00e8te et d\u2019une troisi\u00e8me \u00e9toile qui est situ\u00e9e \u00e0 \u00ab seulement \u00bb 4,37 ann\u00e9es-lumi\u00e8re de notre soleil.<\/p><div class=\"1665f18d14f35dd9e7566e1a8ac9a3e9\" data-index=\"2\" style=\"float: none; margin:10px 0 10px 0; text-align:center;\">\n<script async src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\r\n<ins class=\"adsbygoogle\"\r\n     style=\"display:block; text-align:center;\"\r\n     data-ad-layout=\"in-article\"\r\n     data-ad-format=\"fluid\"\r\n     data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-2860849627502538\"\r\n     data-ad-slot=\"3019501113\"><\/ins>\r\n<script>\r\n     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\r\n<\/script>\n<\/div>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Or, en comparant deux clich\u00e9s qui ont \u00e9t\u00e9 pris respectivement le 7 juillet 2014 et le 2 mai 2015, les astronomes ont remarqu\u00e9 que l\u2019objet en question s\u2019\u00e9tait significativement d\u00e9plac\u00e9 par rapport \u00e0 la position d\u2019Alpha Centauri A et B (voir image ci-dessous). Parmi les th\u00e9ories les plus couramment \u00e9voqu\u00e9es figure celle de la naine brune, \u00e0 savoir un astre \u00e0 mi-chemin entre une \u00e9toile et une plan\u00e8te dont la masse est insuffisante pour amorcer les r\u00e9actions thermonucl\u00e9aires responsables de la luminosit\u00e9 des \u00e9toiles. L\u2019\u00e9quipe qui a r\u00e9alis\u00e9 la d\u00e9couverte pense n\u00e9anmoins que l\u2019hypoth\u00e8se d\u2019un objet transneptunien (TNO) est plus vraisemblable.
